Sheikh Adel bin Abdullah Rayan, a well-known Quran reciter with a calm voice and accurate recitation, was born in Saudi Arabia in 1976 (1397 AH). At the age of seven, he started learning the Quran by heart, and he finished it before completing elementary school. He was leading prayers in a modest Jeddah mosque as an imam by the time he was twelve years old. He is authorized to recite and instruct the Quran because he has an ijazah in the Hafs narration from Asim.
Sheikh Adel studied Islamic law at the Al-Haram Al-Makki Institute before graduating with a bachelor's degree from Umm Al-Qura University's Faculty of Sharia. He has been the imam of the Umm Al-Khair Mosque in the Al-Safa neighborhood of Jeddah for more than 20 years.
